Imran Khan claims he can smell 'assassination plot' against him

| @indiablooms | Mar 25, 2023, at 03:07 am

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has claimed that police chiefs of Punjab and Islamabad alongside their ‘handlers’ have hatched a conspiracy to kill him as they are “getting serious to assassinate him”, media reports said.

“The IGs of Punjab and Islamabad have constituted two separate squads, who will join the PTI workers and open fire on the police… to provoke an armed retaliation and eventually reach [inside the house] and assassinate me, in a day or two,” alleged Khan in an address from his Zaman Park residence on Wednesday as quoted by Dawn News.

“The IGs and handlers have planned a Model Town-type murder,” the former premier alleged.

Meanwhile, Khan on Friday secured a three-day  extension in protective bail till March 27 in five cases registered against him in Islamabad.

He secured it after personally appearing before the Lahore High Court (LHC).

Khan — who was ousted in April last year via a no-confidence motion — arrived at the LHC in tight security as a two-member special bench, comprising Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh and Justice Anwaar Hussain heard the plea regarding an extension in the protective bail, reports Geo News.
