A 45-year-old Indian-origin social media influencer and YouTuber, Nancy Grewal, was brutally stabbed to death at her home in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada, on March 3, 2026, prompting a homicide investigation by local police.

Known for her outspoken criticism of pro-Khalistani separatists and Punjab politics, Grewal succumbed to her injuries shortly after emergency services responded to the scene.

The attack occurred shortly before 9:30 p.m. on the 2400 block of Todd Lane, where LaSalle Police Service officers found Grewal suffering from severe stab wounds, LaSalle Police Service reported.

She was rushed to a hospital by Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services but was pronounced dead despite medical efforts.

Police described the incident as an "isolated" event to reassure the public, stating, "The victim is Nancy Grewal, 45, of Windsor. The LaSalle Police Service offers our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Grewal", as quoted in the police statement covered by The New Indian Express.

Grewal's family in Jalandhar, Punjab, learnt of the tragedy on March 4 after she failed to answer calls, leading them to alert her employer and authorities, according to The New Indian Express.

Investigators have cordoned off the area, including two homes, a parking lot, and nearby woodland, while seeking surveillance footage from residents.

Grewal, originally from Punjab, had built a following on YouTube and social media for her controversial commentary on Sikh issues, gurdwara activities, Hindu temple attacks, and India-Canada tensions, as reported by The Tribune India.

She frequently condemned Khalistani elements and former Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and called for CCTV in religious sites, often facing death threats for her views, as noted by The New Indian Express.

Her content included allegations of illegal activities in gurdwaras and sharp critiques of Punjab political figures.

No arrests have been made, and police have not disclosed a motive or suspect details.

Grewal's death marks the second homicide in the Windsor-Essex region in 2026, heightening concerns in the Indian diaspora community.

Authorities urge tips via the Major Crimes Unit at 519-969-7411.
