Iran alleges attacks on US 'hideouts' in Dubai, US calls claims false

Tensions escalated further in the Middle East after Iran claimed it had carried out missile and drone strikes on alleged US military “hideouts” in Dubai, a claim swiftly denied by American officials, media reports said.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the attacks targeted locations housing more than 500 US personnel, adding that ambulances in Dubai were engaged for hours transporting the dead and wounded.

The statement also warned that the region could become a “graveyard” for American troops if hostilities continue.

However, the US Central Command dismissed the claims as false, saying no US personnel had been attacked in Dubai.

In a statement posted on X, the command accused Tehran of spreading misinformation to mask what it described as its weakened military position.

Amid the escalating rhetoric, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a warning to Gulf nations, urging them not to allow the US or Israel to use their territory for military operations against Iran.

He reiterated that Tehran does not initiate conflicts but would respond forcefully to any attack on its infrastructure or economic interests.

Meanwhile, regional tensions deepened after Kuwait International Airport was hit by multiple drone strikes that damaged its radar systems, though no casualties were reported. Kuwaiti authorities later attributed the attack to Iran and allied groups.

The conflict has also begun to disrupt civilian life across the region. Air travel has been significantly affected, with major airports in Kuwait and Bahrain temporarily suspending operations due to security concerns.

Airlines have cancelled thousands of flights, impacting both passenger travel and cargo movement.

In a separate claim, Iran’s Guards said they struck US naval assets at a Kuwaiti port, alleging that several vessels were destroyed and American forces killed. The claims could not be independently verified.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also said it used ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones in operations targeting US-linked sites, including a hotel in Dubai.

No official confirmation of such incidents has been provided by US or UAE authorities.

Elsewhere, Iran-backed Houthi movement rebels claimed responsibility for a missile strike on Israel, saying they targeted military sites in the south. Israel’s military said the missile was intercepted.

The exchange of claims and counterclaims comes as the conflict continues to widen, raising concerns of a broader regional escalation affecting critical infrastructure, shipping routes, and international connectivity.
