IRGC Intelligence Chief Majid Khademi killed in Israeli-US strike

| @indiablooms | Apr 06, 2026, at 02:35 pm

Majid Khademi, the head of intelligence for Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), was killed during a US-Israeli strike on Monday, media reports said.

It is still not clear where the IRGC member died.

In a statement, Tasnim News Agency quoted the IRGC as saying that Major General Khademi has made significant, enduring, and instructive contributions over nearly half a century of sincere and courageous guardianship of the Revolution, the system, and the Islamic homeland in the fields of intelligence and security.

The IRGC said that the martyr’s efforts can serve as a guiding light for the country's intelligence community for many years to come.

Majid Khademi had over for General Mohammad Kazemi, who died during the 12-day war between Iran and Israel last year.

Trump's 'Tuesday, 8 pm' deadline

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has set a self-imposed deadline of Tuesday at 8 PM (Eastern Time) for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Without sharing further details, Trump wrote on Truth Social: "Tuesday, 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time!"

Critical infrastructures to be targeted?

Trump warned of attacking the country's critical infrastructure if Iran did not follow the deadline.

He wrote: "Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!"

In his expletive-filled post, Trump further said: "Open the F******’ Strait, you crazy b*******, or you’ll be living in Hell - JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP."

Iran on Saturday dismissed the ultimatum, with officials describing Trump as “helpless, nervous, unbalanced and stupid,” saying the threats reflected desperation rather than strength.
