IS claims responsibility for Cairo church blast

Cairo, Dec 14 (IBNS): Militant group Islamic State on Wednesday claimed responsibility for the attack in Cairo church which left at least 25 people killed, media reports said.

The Islamic State (IS) claimed credit for the bombing at the St. Mark's Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, identifying it as a suicide operation and alleging to have killed and wounded nearly 80 "Crusaders", read the SITE Intel Group.

The attack occurred on Sunday.

The explosion occurred at around 10 am local time.

Several people were injured in the blast.
