Israel: 'Palestinian' man plows car into crowd of people, 13 hurt

At least 13 people were injured in a 'suspected terror case' after a Palestinian man rammed his car into a crowd of people at a bus stop in Karkur Junction located near the northern town of Pardes-Hanna-Karkur in Israel  on Thursday.

One of the teens who was injured in the attack was hospitalised in a critical state.

The suspect, identified as a Palestinian from the Jenin area of the West Bank who was living in Israel illegally with his Arab Israeli wife, was shot and killed while attempting to stab police officers after fleeing the scene of the initial attack, police chief Daniel Levy told The Times of Israel.

Police said cops are currently investigating the attack at Karkur Junction as a terror attack.

Medical officials told The Times of Israel that a 17-year-old girl was fighting for her life following the attack after being brought to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in nearby Hadera in critical condition.

Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera told The Jerusalem Post it had received one individual in critical condition, two in serious condition, and three in moderate condition.

Israel Police spokesperson told the newspaper: "The terrorist ran over several people at a bus station, then proceeded to stab others with a screwdriver and crashed into a police vehicle.”

Who is the suspect?

As per local media reports, the suspect has been identified as Jamil Zayoud, 53.

Originally from the Jenin area, he had been living illegally in Ma’ale Iron with his Arab Israeli wife, The Times of Israel reported.

Hamas Praises Attack

The Palestinian group Hamas praised the attack.

“The ramming and stabbing operation that took place this afternoon in the Karkur area near Hadera is a natural, heroic response to the brutal aggression and ongoing crimes committed by the occupation in the occupied West Bank, especially in its northern governorates, and to the continued Judaization operations and attempts to control Al-Aqsa Mosque, the Ibrahimi Mosque and our Islamic sanctities,” the group was quoted as saying by Firstpost.

Three Empty Buses Explode

At least three empty buses exploded in Israel's Bat Yam city recently, with police describing the incident as a possible terror attack.

The city is located south of Tel Aviv city.

Police said explosive devices attached to two other buses failed to explode.

The buses were standing in a parking lot when the explosions occurred.
