Israel resumes offensive activities after Hamas rocket attack

| | Jul 27, 2014, at 08:51 pm
Gaza City, July 27 (IBNS) The Israeli army on Sunday said it resumed its raids on Gaza by land, sea and air after Hamas continued firing rockets, ending a unilateral humanitarian truce.
"Due to Hamas' incessant rocket fire during the humanitarian window, we are renewing our aerial, naval and ground activity in Gaza," Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement.

"Due to flagrant violations of humanitarian remission by #hamas, the #IDF is now resuming offensive activities," Israeli army spokesman Peter Lerner wrote on Twitter.

Israel earlier accepted UN's request for a 24-hour ceasefire, but warned it would act if it was breached by Hamas.

More than 1,000 Palestinians and 46 Israelis have been killed, a BBC report said.
