Justin Trudeau congratulates Oscar winners from Canada

Los Angeles/Ottawa, Mar 6 (IBNS): Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has congratulated three Oscar winners- Paul Austerberry, Jeffrey A. Melvin and Shane Vieau-who hail from his country.

In the first Oscar nominations for each of them, Paul Austerberry, Jeffrey A. Melvin and Shane Vieau won the Academy Awards for best production design in film The Shape Of Water.

Congratulating the trio, Trudeau tweeted, "A big win for Canadian talent at the Academy Awards last night – congratulations to Paul D. Austerberry, Jeffrey A. Melvin and Shane Vieau on winning Best Production Design at the #Oscars!"

The Shape Of Water, which was shot in Toronto and Hamilton, has won the Academy Awards for the best picture.

In the film, apart from director Guillermo del Toro and some actors, all were Canadians.

Guillermo del Toro has won the best director award for The Shape Of Water.

The 90th Academy Awards were held at the star-studded Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The award ceremony was hosted by talk-show host Jimmy Kimmel for the second time in a row.
