London: BBC offices, surrounding buildings evacuated over 'suspicious vehicle'

London, Dec 1 (IBNS) The BBC’s headquarters in central London and several other offices were evacuated on Tuesday after a 'suspicious vehicle' was found near the area, media reports said.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told The Independent a call was received shortly after 2pm.
 
“There is a suspicious vehicle and a full evacuation has taken place,” he told the newspaper.
 
One Rebecca Hainsworth tweeted: "#portlandplace sealed off by police unclear why #London."
 
"Lots of confused people heating rumours of bomb threat in an embassy or the BBC #portlandplace #London," read another tweet.
