Manchester, Aug 5 (IBNS): The Greater Manchester Police on Tuesday arrested a man on suspicion of making a hoax bomb threat after Royal Air Force jets escorted a Qatar Airways plane to Manchester Airport here, the police said.

The Greater Manchester Police said  the plane was escorted into the airport after information was received by the pilot about a possible device on board

In a statement, Chief Superintendent John O’Hare, said: “An incoming plane has been escorted into the airport by the Royal Air Force as a result of information received by the pilot about a possible device on board."

“We don’t know how genuine this threat is but it is absolutely vital we deal with the situation as a full emergency,"  John O’Hare said.
