Nepal: Sher Bahadur Deuba appointed as new PM

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba was appointed as the new Prime Minister of the country on Tuesday.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari appointed him to the post.

This is the fifth time he returned to power as the PM of Nepal.

Bhandari appointed Deuba as PM in accordance with Article 76(5) of the Constitution on Tuesday, The Himaayan Times reported.

Deuba's appointment is in line with the mandamus issued on Monday by Supreme Court to make way for his claim to premiership by 5:00 pm, today, the newspaper reported.
