North Korea executes top official, South Korea says

Seoul, Aug 31 (IBNS): North Korea has executed a vice premier of the nation, South Korean officials confirmed media on Wednesday.

He has been identified as Kim Yong-jin.

The official at Seoul's unification ministry was quoted  as saying by Yonhap News Agency that North Korea executed the 63-year-old Kim Yong-jin by firing squad last month.

The South Korean official also said that another North Korean official, Yong-chol,head of the United Front Department (UFD), has been sent to rural farm for re-education.
