One dies in Toronto from shooting on Eglinton Avenue

Toronto, Nov 20 (IBNS): Toronto police have confirmed the death of one person following a shooting in the city Friday evening, CP24 reported.

The incident took place on Eglinton Avenue near Bermondsey Road after 6 p.m.

Details regarding the age and the gender of the victim were not provided at that time.

Police in their preliminary reports said multiple gunshots were heard.

Kathy Lamourie, one witness said that she had heard four to five shots.

“They were very loud,” Lamourie told the news channel.

According to Toronto police Supt. Randy Carter the shooting involved two sport utility vehicles.

The police could not determine at that time if shots were fired from one vehicle into the other or from both vehicles.

“We are getting a lot of calls in from people who were in amongst the traffic at the time, which is very encouraging,” he said.

“There’s going to be a lot of police officers here tonight.”

The case has been taken over by the Homicide investigators.
