Pakistan hopes Taliban won't allow TTP to operate in Afghanistan: Sheikh Rashid

| @indiablooms | Jun 27, 2021, at 10:09 pm

Islamabad: Pakistan's Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has said Islamabad is expecting the Afghan Taliban will not allow terrorist groups like TTP to carry out activities against Pakistan.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan has categorically said that we [Pakistan] will not give any bases to the United States to use against Afghanistan,” he said while speaking to the media in Islamabad on Saturday as quoted by The Express Tribune.

“...But we also expect from [Afghan] Taliban that they will not allow TTP [Tehreek-e-Pakistan Taliban] and other elements to carry out any activity which causes harm to the lives and property of Pakistani people,” he said.

Afghanistan is expected to witness a new chapter in its history as the US and Nato troops are set to finish their withdrawal from the country on Sept 11.

Meanwhile, Taliban forces are rising in the country once more as several districts were captured by the terror group in recent times.
