Pakistan PM Sharif accuses Imran Khan of selling state gifts worth PKR 140 mln

Islamabad:  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday targeted PTI chief Imran Khan and accused him of selling gifts received during foreign visits, media reports said.

According to reports, Sharif made the observation  during a meeting with senior journalists at the PM House.

“I can confirm you that Imran Khan took gifts worth Rs140 million from Toshakhana and sold them in Dubai,” he was quoted as saying by ARY News, adding that valuable state gifts include diamond jewellery, bracelets and watches.

As per the country’s law, any gift received from dignitaries of a foreign state must be put in the state depository or the Toshakhana, he newspaper reported.

Shehbaz Sharif became the PM after Khan was defeated in a no-confidence motion brought against him in the National Assembly recently.
