Pakistan President Arif Alvi tests COVID-19 positive after taking first jab of Chinese made vaccine

Islamabad: Pakistan President Arif Alvi has tested COVID-19 positive after taking the first shot of the Chinese made vaccine.

Alvi made the announcement on Monday on Twitter.

Pakistani President Arif Alvi and his wife Samina Alvi earlier this month received their COVID-19 jabs with the Sinopharm vaccine, Xinhua news agency reported.

Alvi tweeted: "I have tested positive for Covid-19. May Allah have mercy on all Covid affectees. Had 1st dose of vaccine، but antibodies start developing after 2nd.dose that was due in a week. Please continue to be careful."

Pakistan PM Imran Khan had tested COVID-19 positive on Mar 20.
