Multan, Oct 10 (IBNS): At least seven people died in a stampede at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally in Pakistan's Multan city on Friday, media reports said.

According to reports, at least 42 others were injured in the mishap.

The injured people were taken to Nishtar Hospital following the incident.

“A total of seven dead bodies have been brought in and 42 were injured due to a stampede after the PTI procession,” Parvez Haider, Director of Emergency at Nistar Hospital to Dawn News.

The PTI blamed the police and the  local administration for the mishap.

“We believe it is a total failure of the administration. We saw ourselves how people moved aside as spectators, and the crowd was standing on the seats. This is a very unfortunate incident, and it would not have happened if the police had cooperated,”  PTI leader Shireen Mazari  told DawnNews.
