Panorama India in heart of Toronto will celebrate India's Unity in Diversity

Toronto, Aug 13 (IBNS) To bring together the Indian community through the celebration of unity in diversity, Panorama India, the festival and cultural wing of the Consulate General of India, Toronto, is hosting the India Day Festival & Grand Parade on Aug 19.

This free community event has something for all ages! 

Consul General of India in Toronto, Amb. Dinesh Bhatia will preside over the India Day event. Several notable political dignitaries from all levels of the government will participate.

The event kicks off with the National Anthem at 1 pm followed by the Grand Parade, marshalled by Bollywood actor Jimmy Sheirgill.  Panorama India Chair Anu Srivastava is announced that this year’s parade will display twenty floats representing the various States of India put together by the diverse number of cultural groups in the GTA.

The all-day program includes performances by 300+ local dancers and Panorama Idol singers. Headlining acts this year include the “King of Bhangra” Malkit Singh, Indo-Canadian Singer Parichay, Indian Actor Pukhraj Bhalla and much more!

"We have expanded our food vendors this year to over twenty stalls, each bringing with them the mouth-watering flavours of India. Our International Marketplace and Meena Bazaar will host a variety of unique clothes, food, and jewelry booths.  Other featured activities include a Lamborghini display and Kids Zone," said Jasveen Rattan, Director of Media – Panorama India.
