| @indiablooms | Mar 28, 2023, at 10:06 pm

Phagwara: A Manila (Philippines)-based man, originally from Goraya, and his wife were shot dead by an unidentified armed assailant in their Manila house on intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, a delayed report said here on Tuesday.

Lakhbir Singh said that he received the information about killing of his younger brother Sukhwinder Singh (41) and his wife Kirandeep Kaur (33) Monday evening.

The CCTV footage captured in the house showed the assailant entered the house late night and opened fire on Sukhwinder, who died on the spot. On hearing the gunfire, Kirandeep Kaur rushed to the spot. The killer shot her dead too, said Lakhbir Singh.

Sukhwinder Singh was running finance business in Manila for the last 19 years and Kirandeep went there only five months back, Lakbir Singh added.

Sukhwinder belonged to Village Mehsampur near Goraya while Kirandeep belonged to Village Chachrari near Phagwara.

A Pall of Gloom descended in both villages on Monday evening as the report of tragic incident reached the villages.
