Sri Lankan embassy in Israel asks its citizens to be vigilant

| @indiablooms | May 17, 2021, at 02:35 am

As the fighting between Israel and Hamas  intensifies, the Sri Lankan embassy in Tel Aviv asked its citizens residing in the country to be vigilant, reported Daily Mirror.

In its advisory, the embassy asked its nationals to stay away from large gatherings and to avoid unnecessary travel. Sri Lankans living in Israel have been asked to keep their travel document safely.

The embassy has issued a hotline number in case of extreme emergency.

The fighting in the region has been raging for more than six days now, with Hamas continuing raining rockets on important Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv. Israeli forces, on the other hand, have continued their targeted air bombing campaigns in the  Hamas-controlled area.

Several cities in Israel, with a mixed population of Arabs and Jews, saw riots and arsons in the last week.
