Tel Aviv, Jan 2 (IBNS) A birthday party turned morbid for a mob in a pub as a man opened fire, killing at least two people and injuring another seven on Friday afternoon, according to reports.

The incident took place at Simta Pub at Dizengoff 122, Haaretz reported.

The assailant, identified as an Israeli Arab fled the scene as a manhunt is underway to track him down.

The two dead have been identified as Alon Bakal, the manager of the pub and Shimon Ruimi.

The shooting comes amidst rising tensions between Israel and Palestine.

Condemning the incident, Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai has urged the people of Israel to co-operate to get the man caught.
