Trump fires acting Attorney General

Washington, Jan 31 (IBNS): After acting Attorney General Sally Yates questioned the legality of US President Donald Trump's immigration ban, she has been fired from the post on Monday, media reports said.

"(Yates) has betrayed the Department of Justice," CNN reported quoting the White House statement.

Dana Boente, US attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, has been named as the acting attorney general in her place.

Trump earlier tweeted: "The Democrats are delaying my cabinet picks for purely political reasons. They have nothing going but to obstruct. Now have an Obama A.G."
