Trump vetoed Israeli plan to kill Ayatollah Ali Khamenei: Reports

US President Donald Trump has vetoed an Israeli plan to assassinate Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a U.S. official told Fox News on Sunday, amid escalating tension between the two nations.

Details about the assassination attempt or Trump's veto stance have not been confirmed officially so far.

Trump, meanwhile, claimed he could help Israel and Iran to reach a deal, referring to the recent conflict between India and Pakistan.

In his Truth Social post, Trump claimed he helped India and Pakistan to reach a ceasefire deal on May 10.

He wrote on the social media platform: "Iran and Israel should make a deal, and will make a deal, just like I got India and Pakistan to make, in that case by using TRADE with the United States to bring reason, cohesion, and sanity into the talks with two excellent leaders who were able to quickly make a decision and STOP!"

The Indian government, however, maintained that India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10 to end the conflict after four days of cross-border drone and missile strikes without the involvement of a third party, media reports said.

Iran Launches Two Ballistic Missiles At Israel

The Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen claimed to have launched two ballistic missiles at Israel on Saturday in coordination with Iran, targeting “sensitive Israeli enemy targets” in the Tel Aviv area, media reports said.

As per media reports, at least 10 people were dead while 200 were injured in Iranian barrages.

However, military officials told The Times of Israel that the IDF is not aware of any ballistic missile fire from Yemen in the previous 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Israel's emergency service said four people have been confirmed dead at the site of the strike in central Israel, BBC reported.

A missile launched by the Houthis on Friday hit a Palestinian town in the West Bank, wounding several people.

The group did not take responsibility for the launch.

Meanwhile, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said it completed an extensive series of strikes on targets in Tehran related to the Iranian regime’s nuclear weapons project.

The targets included the Iranian Ministry of Defense headquarters, the headquarters of the SPND nuclear project, and additional targets, it said.
