Social activist Greta Thunberg was arrested on Tuesday while participating in a protest in support of Palestine Action hunger strikers in London.

A group called Prisoners for Palestine claimed on X that Thunberg was arrested under the Terrorism Act for holding a placard that read: “I support Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide.”

“She was detained during the Prisoners for Palestine action at Aspen Insurance in London, insurers for Israeli weapons firm Elbit Systems,” the group said in a post.

The group also shared a video on X showing the Swedish climate activist taking part in the demonstration.

According to Sky News, the protesters targeted the company on Tuesday morning because it provides services to Israeli-linked defence firm Elbit Systems.

Two activists reportedly sprayed red paint on the front of the building before police arrived and began making arrests.

Thunberg was attending the rally to support several members of the banned group who are currently being held on remand and have been on hunger strike since November 2, the news channel reported.
