Woman shot in Queen and Sherbourne area, seriously injured

Toronto, Sept 23 (IBNS): A woman was shot near Moss Park, close to the intersection of Queen Street East and Sherbourne Street on Thursday night.

According to the Toronto paramedics, there were multiple shots fired during the incident, which took place around 8:45p.m. The woman was soon rushed to a trauma center, after the incident took place.

Chris Sisco, a nearby resident, informed the police about hearing three to four gunshots. According to him, when he passed by the area to walk home, he observed six or seven people, including at least two women, were standing together and blasting music on the northwest corner of the street.

As soon as the gunshots happened, Sisco said he saw people dispersing but was unable to see the victim.

According to Toronto Police Const. Craig Brister, officers are investigating the case and are looking for a suspect, however he could not provide any description lately.

Presently Sherbourne Street is closded north of Queen for further investigations. The bus route 75 which passes by the area is presently diverted around the area.
