Fallen 'Crypto King' Samuel Bankman-Fried sentenced to 25 years in prison for FTX fraud

Samuel Bankman-Fried, also known as SBF, 32, was sentenced by a US court on Thursday (March 28, 2024) to 25 years in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $11 billion in forfeiture for his orchestration of multiple fraudulent schemes.

Washington: The US Securities and Exchange Commission today charged Samuel Bankman-Fried with orchestrating a scheme to defraud equity investors in FTX Trading Ltd. (FTX), the crypto trading platform of which he was the CEO and co-founder.
