Afghanistan: Kabul residents facing trouble with rising food, fuel prices
Kabul/IBNS: A number of people from Kabul city have expressed concerns over the rising prices of food and fuel and other basic items amid the winter's cold weather.
The residents of the Afghan capital complained that they were also facing the trouble of unemployment.
Koko Gul, who currently lives in a tent in the remote area of Kabul, said she cannot afford to buy wood this winter.
“There was no money, I could not buy firewood or a heater. I collected a bit of dung and plastic, but it is not enough for the winter,” Koko Gul told TOLO News.
Koko lost her husband and she has been the sole breadwinner of her family for a long time.
“Last night, I cried all night because they said that the price of flour has risen,” said Koko Gul.
Zabiullah, a Kabul resident. told Tolo News: "The prices are high, I myself have not worked for five years, I am trying to find a job."
