Australia warns citizens against visiting Indonesia amid looming terror threat

Sydney, Feb 25 (IBNS): Fearing possible militant attack, Australian government on Thursday issued an advisory to its citizens to ' exercise a high degree of caution' while visiting Indonesia.

"Recent indications suggest that terrorists may be in the advanced stages of preparing attacks in Indonesia (see Safety and Security). The overall level of advice has not changed," read the travels advisory issue by the Australian government.

"We advise you to exercise a high degree of caution in Indonesia, including Bali," it said.

It said: "We advise you to exercise a high degree of caution in Indonesia, including Bali, at this time due to the high threat of terrorist attack. You should also be aware of the severe penalties for narcotics offences, including the death penalty; some specific health risks; and risks associated with natural disasters."
