Boat carrying 93 capsizes in Indonesia, 21 dead
Batam, Indonesia, Nov 2 (IBNS): At least 21 people died after a speedboat carrying 93 migrant workers capsized off Nongsa waters in Indonesia's Batam on Wednesday, reports said.
While 38 people survived the accident, 34 others are missing, The Jakarta Post said in a report.
The daily quoted a survivor as saying that the boat departed from Selingi, Johor Bahru, Malaysia at 3 a.m. and was heading to Batam in Indonesia.
Police said that an investigation is on and they suspect the boat was overloaded.
