Brexit: Theresa May narrowly survives vote of no-confidence
London, Jan 17 (IBNS): Crushing the Opposition's call for the General Elections, United Kingdom (UK) Prime Minister Theresa May survived a vote of no-confidence, which was brought by Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, narrowly on Wednesday, media reports said.
May survived the vote of no-confidence by 19 votes.
The vote of no-confidence was rejected by 325 MPs while 314 MPs had supported it.
May has asked leaders of all parliamentary parties to individually meet her to discuss about Brexit.
He will also table an amendable motion in the parliament on Monday and will discuss a plan B of Brexit after her first deal was rejected by the parliament on Tuesday.
The parliament on Tuesday rejected May's deal by 230 votes.
It is being considered as the greatest defeat by a sitting government in the history of the country.
Britain is scheduled to leave the European Union (EU) on Mar 29.
May has been negotiating a deal with the EU over the issue for the past two years.
