Toronto, Apr 23 (IBNS): Canadian singer Jade Naraine has accused Toronto police of neglecting her sexual assault case more than half-a-year, media reports said.

Jade said she was raped about a year ago by a known person.

Jade said she had reported about the incident few weeks after the incident.

She also had to go through post-traumatic stress disorder after the alleged assault.

Jade told CBC News that initially she received positive response from the investigator.

Regarding the detector, Jade told CBC News, "He was very thorough, really nice.  Things went downhill from there.

Jade has filed a lawsuit against Toronto police and also applied for a judicial review of the Crown attorney's handling of the case.

Though she had asked about the updates of the investigation in a number of mails, she failed to receive any response from the investigator.

"[The officer] realized my case seemed to be the only one that wasn't re-assigned," she said. "Nobody really investigated it. I felt hurt, sad and angry" she told CBC News.
