James Mattis visits Afghanistan, meets President Ashraf Ghani

Kabul, Sept 7 (IBNS):  United States Secretary of Defense, James Mattis, on Friday visited Afghanistan and met country's president Ashraf Ghani.

As per the official Twitter page of Afghanistan President, the two leaders discussed different issued which ranged from peace process, positive impact of the South Asia strategy, upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections, counter terrorism and dialogue with Pakistan.

An official tweet posted on the Twitter handle reaad: "President @ashrafghani and CEO Abdullah met with United States Secretary of Defense, James Mattis and General Dunford the chairman of the joint Chiefs of staff, at Gul Khana palace today."

"They discussed peace process, positive impact of the South Asia strategy, reforms in ANDSF, upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections, counter terrorism and dialogue with Pakistan. #AFG," it said.
