Nepal's former prime minister Dahal rules out prime minister post for himself

Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former prime minister of Nepal and the leader of the CPN-MC faction,  has said he was not eyeing the post of the prime minister and a “political consensus” will decide who will be the next prime minister of the country.

The remark came amid the backdrop of politicking that has been going on among opposition parties and the CPN-MC - Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli’s rival communist faction - which is now headed by Dahal.

"Political consensus will decide who will be the next prime minister for which the political parties are currently holding discussions," Dahal was quoted as saying by the Himalayan Times.

A consensus would be formed soon, he claimed.

Calling for unity among communists, Dahal said, “all honest communists should stand for the unity.” He expressed his dissatisfaction over the working style of Oli, and said, “the truth, justice, and system always prevail at the end.”

He also warned against the people who were hatching the conspiracies to derail the democracy, inclusiveness, proportional system, and constitution.

Nepal President Bidya Devi Bhandari had recently called an all-party meeting. Dahal claimed that in the meeting Oli again hinted at dissolving the house of representative which, he said, would be a dangerous move.
