Nigeria: Church roof collapses, kills 60
The incident occurred when bishop's ordination was taking place.
Many people are still feared to be trapped under debris.
"Hundreds of people were inside the Reigners Bible Church including Akwa Ibom state governor Udom Emmanuel, who survived the disaster," BBC reported.
Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari expressed 'deep sorrow' over the tragedy.
"This evening I spoke with Gov @MrUdomEmmanuel to commiserate with him on the tragic collapse of the Reigners Bible Church building in Uyo," the President tweeted.
"I asked the Governor to convey to the people of Akwa Ibom the deep sorrow felt by me, and by the entire country, over this tragedy," he said.
"I pray that the souls of the deceased will rest in peace, and that the injured will experience quick recovery," he said.
The President said: "Any tragedy that affects any part of Nigeria affects all of us. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with the people of Akwa Ibom."
