Pakistan Maholiati Tahaffuz Movement demand action against worsening environmental condition in Karachi

A large number of people braved the scorching sun to assembly at the Frere Hall in Karachi city to demand action against worsening environmental conditions.

Pakistan Maholiati Tahaffuz Movement in collaboration with the Climate Action Centre, run by Yasir Darya, hosted the Climate March in the city.

Yasir Darya was quoted as saying by Dawn News, "I am happy with the turnout and glad that people are now taking climate change seriously."

Naveed, a resident who was displaced during the anti-encroachment drive by the provincial government, told thePakistani newspaper, “My daughter is all grown up now, and I have no idea how she will ever get married, as we’ve been displaced for four years. We were never compensated for our losses, and no government official ever came to our door to explain why this is happening to us. So, we’ve shown up here in hopes that our voices will be heard — though, honestly, I feel very hopeless.”
