Islamabad, July 17 (IBNS): Social media star Qandeel Baloch was laid to rest in Pakistan's Dera Ghazi Khan area on Sunday, media reports said.

"Relatives and a large number of local residents attended Qandeel's funeral prayers in Shah Sadar Din village, around 130 kilometers from Multan," Geo News reported.

Baloch's brother has confessed to have murdered his sister in Multan, reports said.

Her brother, Waseem Azeem, was arrested Sunday.

According to reports, he killed his sister for "family honor" as she posted "shameful" pictures on Facebook.

Baloch was shot dead in Multan on Saturday by her brother.

Baloch, who for more than once was caught in controversies, was once married and left behind a young son.

She had stirred controversy by posting pictures online of herself with a prominent Muslim cleric.
