Pakistan: Women stage sit-in protest outside CM House in Quetta over alleged torture of a woman by cop
Quetta, Pakistan/IBNS: A number of women from Zhob region on Monday demonstrated outside the Chief Minister's House in Pakistan's Quetta city against the torture of a woman allegedly by police in their hometown.
The women, carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands, managed to reach the CM House which is located in the Red Zone where holding of protest or sit-in is not allowed, reports Dawn News.
The demonstrators were seen joining in a sit-in and shouted slogans against the police and alleged that police had tortured a woman, Rozi Bibi, at the behest of an influential political leader in Zhob.
“We are protesting against the inhuman attitude of police who have registered an FIR against the woman and some other members of her tribe just to please the political leader and local administration,” Sara Mandokhail, who was leading the sit-in, told Dawn News.
