Singapore to limit number of cars on road

| @indiablooms | Oct 24, 2017, at 04:33 pm
Singapore, Oct 24 (IBNS): To stop cramping its roads, Singapore authorities have decided to put a cap on the number of cars on roads from February next year, reports said.

Dubbed as the cleanest and the most expensive city in the world, last year the officials counted at least 600,000 cars on its roads.

The city has a strict rule in place when it comes to owning cars as it follows a system of bidding for the right to own and use a car.

This is known as a Certificate of Entitlement and is applicable for a limited number of years.

It is also the reason why private cars in Singapore costs almost four times as much as it does in the United States.

The cap will be applied to motorcycles and private vehicles.
