Taliban regime condemns remarks against Prophet Mohammad
Kabul/New Delhi: The Taliban on Monday joined the list of Islamic countries to protest against the controversial statements against Prophet Mohammad by now-expelled BJP functionaries, that have created a storm in the Muslim world.
In a statement, the spokesperson of the Taliban, Zabihullah Mujahid, said: “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan strongly condemns the use of derogatory words against the Prophet of Islam by an official of the ruling party in India.
“We urge the Indian government not to allow such fanatics to insult the holy religion of Islam and , provoke the feelings of Muslims.”
The statement comes just days after a high-level delegation from the Ministry of External Affairs, led by Joint Secretary JP Singh, visited Kabul and met with the Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, in a major outreach to the Kabul regime.
India is also helping the Afghan people with wheat, medicines and Covid vaccines. The team also oversaw all the developmental projects being undertaken by India in Afghanistan.
