Two NDM men dead, Mohsin Dawar injured after police open fire on them in Pakistan during protest
Two National Democratic Movement workers were killed and 15 others, including party chairman Mohsin Dawar, injured after police opened fire on them while they were protesting in Miramshah Cantonment area of Pakistan on Saturday.
They were protesting outside the RO’s office over delayed election results.
NDM’s provincial chairperson Bushra Gohar condemned the “cowardly attack” on Dawar and held the ECP responsible for the incident, Dawn.com reported.
Officials told the newspaper the incident occurred when NDM supporters reportedly opened fire on police personnel stationed at the gate of a stadium in the area.
Police returned fire after the incident.
The condition of Dawar is said to be stable.
Bushra Gohar posted on X: "Prayers for @MohsinDawar & NDM workers badly injured in direct firing by security forces. Demand an inquiry and arrests of the culprits. @KP_Police1 @OfficialDGISPR who ordered the firing on Mohsin Dawar and Party workers?"
