US: Mass shooting in Dayton leaves 10 people killed

Ohio, Aug 4 (IBNS): A mass shooting incident Ohio area of the US left 10 people killed and 27 others injured, officials said on Sunday.

This was the second mas shooting incident in the country in past 24 hours.

Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley said: " There are 10 people dead including the shooter, 26 others injured. Officers neutralized the shooter in less than a minute."

The shooter has been killed by the police.

The Mayor further said: "Number of wounded is 27 who've been treated at local hospitals for various injuries."

The identity and the motive of the shooter is still not clear.

Whaley earlier tweeted and said she was left 'heartbroken' by the incident.

"I’m heartbroken. Thank you to our first responders for all that you’ve done. We will share updates as we have more information,' Nan tweeted.

Another mass shooting incident in the El Paso, Texas, hours back, left at least 26 people dead.

Reacting to the developments in the country, US President Donald Trump tweeted: "The FBI, local and state law enforcement are working together in El Paso and in Dayton, Ohio. Information is rapidly being accumulated in Dayton. Much has already be learned in El Paso. Law enforcement was very rapid in both instances. Updates will be given throughout the day!"

"God bless the people of El Paso Texas. God bless the people of Dayton, Ohio," he said.
