Ridge Gourd skin chutney Ridge Gourd skin chutney Ingredients Skin of 2 Ridge Gourd Oil - 2 tsp Green chilli - 3 Tomato - 2 A piece of Tamarind Garlic - 2 cloves Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp Carrot - 1 finely chopped Onion - 1 finely chopped Salt to taste Coriander leaves For Tempering Oil - 2 tsp Urad dal - 1 tsp Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp Red chilli - 2 A pinch of Asafoetida powder A few Curry leaves Method: 1. Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan. Add ridge gourd skin to it. Add green chillies, tomato, a little tamarind and salt. 2. Mix it well, cover it with a lid and let it cook for a few minutes. 3. After it cooked, let the mixture cool. Add 2 cloves of garlic, cumin seeds, salt and grind it coarsely using a little water. 4. To this chutney, add chopped onions, finely chopped carrots, chopped coriander leaves & mix it. 5. For tempering: In a pan with hot oil, add Urad dal, Mustard seeds, Red chillies, Asofoetida powder and Curry leaves. Turn off the stove and add the chutney to it. 6. Ridge Gourd skin chutney is ready the best way to have it with steamed rice. Regional parties show happiness over BJP New Delhi/ Lucknow, Sep 16 (ANI): Regional parties including AAP and BSP on Tuesday expressed happiness over BJP’s defeat and poor performance in by-polls. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal said that the polls result shows that the ruling BJP party has fooled the public in these 100 days and that they have given their mandate in the Assembly polls. By-Poll Results: BJP suffers humiliating New Delhi, Sept 16 (ANI): The BJP suffered a humiliating loss as the by-poll results on 33 Assembly seats and 3 Lok Sabha seats were declared on Tuesday. The saffron party even failed to retain most of the seats where it was infallible sometimes back. The BJP suffered a jolt in Rajasthan winning just one of the four seats. The BJP had to face further embarrassment in Modi's turf of Gujarat, being forced to concede one more seat to the Congress, bringing the total tally in the 9 assembly seats to BJP: 6, Congress: 3. The Samajwadi Party stormed ahead by winning 8 seats in UP by-polls. There was some reason to cheer for the BJP, which made its debut in West Bengal by winning one seat in the Basirhat Dakshin constituency. BSE closes points 244.48 down on Septemb New Delhi, Sept 15 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 244.48 points down to stand at 26,816.56. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 63.50 points down to stand at 8,042.00. FRL and CESC were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 8.12% and 7.33% along with BRITANNIA and UNITECH with an increase of 6.37% and 5.01% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include YESBANK and BHUSHAN STEEL LTD. with a decrease of 5.17% and 4.96% along with JINDAL STEEL and POWER LTD. and JPINFRATEC with a decrease of 4.79% and 4.03% at the close of the markets. India's 'Mars Mission' to enter into Mar Banglore, Sep 15 (ANI): ISRO Scientific Secretary, V Koteswara Rao said on Monday that India's 'Mars Mission' will enter into the sphere of influence of planet Mars on September 24. He further said that if the mission is successfully accomplished, India would be the first country to complete the mission in its maiden attempt. SC asks Prashant Bhushan to reveal name New Delhi, Sep 15 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday directed lawyer Prashant Bhushan to disclose the source of his information in the 2G scam case about CBI Chief Ranjit Sinha. The court asked Bhushan to submit the name and address of the whistle-blower in a sealed envelope. The CBI chief, defending himself, has said that 90 per cent of entries in the register are forged while some entries may be genuine. However, Bhushan said that this infringes on the privacy of the whistle-blower and therefore needs permission from the same. The court thus gave a week's time to Bhushan and the next hearing is to take place next Monday. 15-Sep-2014
Converted water schemes into solar, Inla New Delhi, Sep 15 (ANI): Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on Monday addressed a news conference and highlighted the government's efforts towards cleanliness and provision of safe drinking water. Gadkari said that the government has worked towards transforming the water purification schemes converting them into solar. He added that monitoring and accountability mechanisms have been set up in the drinking water sector to increase efficiency in work. BJP proposes to place CBI under RTI, Pol New Delhi, Sep 15 (ANI): Politicos react on Monday after BJP proposed that Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should be placed under Right to Information Act (RTI). BJP leader Sambit Patra said that BJP wants a corruption free and transparent CBI. Supporting Patra, party leader Subramanian Swamy said that even he believes that CBI should come under RTI although an additional condition can be placed allowing CBI to choose the ongoing cases which shouldn’t be placed under RTI. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit said that although CBI should be transparent, but revealing details of important cases could be dangerous. Tibetans-in-Exile expect India to raise Dharamshala, Sep 15 (ANI): Tibetans-in-exile from Dharamshala expect Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to discusss their concerns with Chinese President, Xi Jinping, during his visit to India later this week. A Tibetan-In-Exile, Lobsang Yeshi on Sunday said that the people of Tibet expect that Modi will discuss issues of human right violations inside Tibet with Xi. Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit India between September 17 and 19.
