BJP files complaint with EC against use New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): The BJP's CM candidate in Delhi, Kiran Bedi on Tuesday moved the Election Commission against Arvind Kejriwal for using her photograph in the party's poster campaign without her permission. The party has recently put up posters on numerous auto-rickshaws plying in the national capital, asking the people of Delhi to choose between Kejriwal and Bedi for the post of chief minister. The posters features the picture of Kejriwal with the word "imandar" (honest) printed below it while Bedi’s picture says "avsarvadi" (opportunist). Obama will now be going to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia, to pay respects to the late King Abdullah before returning to Washington. Laxman had been ill for two weeks and died of multi-organ failure at a private hospital in Pune city where he lived. Laxman's daughter-in-law Usha said that his body would be taken to Mumbai city to the Common Man statue where his admirers could pay their last respects. Indian cartoonist, Sudhir Tailang said that Laxman's demise was a major loss to the cartooning world. State governors and dignitaries mark 66t Bhopal/ Hyderabad/Raipur/ Vishakhapatnam/ Lucknow, Jan 26 (ANI): Indian states on Monday observed 66th Republic Day. Madhya Pradesh witnessed the parade by the police force as the state governor Ram Naresh Yadav saluted the force and greeted them on the Republic day. Uttar Pradesh being the largest Indian state witnessed various tableaux showcasing the culture and rich heritage and also the parade by the police personnel along with flypast. Meanwhile, a ceremonial parade was also held at the Eastern Naval Command parade ground in Vishakhapatnam. Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command, took the salute. Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan also addressed the state on the occasion and saluted the police force. Chhattisgarh Governor Balram Das Tandon also saluted the parade and hoisted the national flag in Raipur. Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India. Separatists Kashmir call for shutdown on Srinagar, Jan 26 (ANI): Separatists in Jammu and Kashmir gave a shutdown call as the country celebrates its 66th Republic Day on Monday. The shutdown call was given by leaders of several Kashmiri separatist groups. All shops, business establishments and the public transport remained shut. Every year the separatists announce shutdown on Republic Day and Independence Day. Captain Divya Ajith Kumar of the Corps of Army Air Defence led the first all-women contingent of 154 women officers and cadets during the parade, where US President Barack Obama was present as the chief guest. Kumar was the first woman cadet in the history of the Army to have been awarded the prestigious 'Sword of Honour' at the passing out parade of the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai in 2010. Currently, the Indian Air Force has the highest number of women officers, followed by the army and navy.
