Muslims will resist Islamic State in Ind Lucknow, Dec 28 (ANI): Expressing confidence that Islamic State cannot gain foothold in India, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that family of Muslim youth from India lured to join the militant outfit will stop them. Singh was addressing 'Taleem ki Taquat' (strength of training), a conference in Lucknow on how education helps empower and energise communities. He also cited example of a Mumbai-based family which rushed to him after their son had expressed his wish to join IS. Singh said nothing but Indian 'taleem' (training) can put an end to the crisis of terrorism and intolerance sweeping across the world as India worships values and that practice must go on. 28-Dec-2015
Villagers chase away a tusker in Dumka Dumka, Dec 28 (ANI): Villagers chased away a tusker, which entered their village after separating from its herd in Jharkhand. Forest department officials were informed immediately and they visited the village in Dumka district to track the elephant. A forest department official, Abhishek Kumar, said the animal did not cause any damage as it was old. The villagers chased away the jumbo by shouting, bursting crackers and lighting torch. Attacks by elephants have been frequent in India, causing serious injuries and deaths to villagers living near forests. 28-Dec-2015

Two arrested in connection with the murd Darbhanga, Dec 28 (ANI): The murder of a construction engineer in Darbhanga, Bihar revealed the perpetrators of the crime. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajit Kumar Satyarthi said that during the initial investigations it was revealed that Santosh Jha group members namely Vikas Jha and Mukesh Pathak were involved in the incident. Special Task Force (STF) team headed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Shivdeep Lande from Patna is further probing into this episode. DDCA row: AAP exchange war of words with New Delhi, Dec 28 (ANI): Hours after a three member panel report on the alleged scam of Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) cleared Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s name from any irregularities, AAP’s spokesperson, Ashutosh, fired back accusing Jaitley of running away from probe and not cooperating with investigation agencies. The fracas over Jaitley started last week after the CBI raided the office of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal while investigating one of the top bureaucrats in the Delhi government. Ruckus at MCB meeting leaves six injured Bulandshahar, Dec 27 (ANI): At least six people sustained injuries in a clash between two groups over the accusations of corruption on the Executive Officer (EO) of Municipal Corporation Board (MCB) in a meeting. The clash took place when the MCB Bulandshahar meeting was under way and two groups; one supporting and another against the EO, clashed among themselves. Leadership programme for Tibetan student Dharamsala, Dec 27 (ANI): Over three hundred Tibetan students from India and Nepal joined a leadership workshop in Dharamshala. The department of education of Tibetan government in-exile had organised the third annual workshop in a local Tibetan Children's Village School which was inaugurated by Tibetan Prime Minister in-exile, Lobsang Sangay. During the eight-day long workshop, the students will be taught leadership-skills, Tibetan exile, administration and qualities of leaders. Sangay felt it was important to have more and more leaders in the freedom struggle of Tibet. Students too expressed their excitement for the programme as they looked forward to serving the nation and free it from oppression of the Chinese government. Leopard locked in room after it attacked Jaunpur, Dec 27 (ANI): A leopard was locked inside a room at Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh after it strayed into a village bordering a forest and attacked three. Tension spread after it was spotted hiding inside a bush behind a house. The villagers informed police and forest officials after the leopard entered a house to take shelter. Local residents gathered around the house and climbed the wall to catch a glimpse of the animal.
