MP Govt waives off tax on 'Hindi Medium' New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): To ensure that the film reaches to a maximum number of people in the theatres, the Madhya Pradesh Government has decided to waive off the entertainment tax for Bollywood movies 'Hindi Medium' and Sachin Tendulkar's biopic 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams'. Sachin Tendulkar's biopic 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' has already been declared tax free in states like Maharashtra, Odisha, Kerala, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. However, Irrfan Khan starrer 'Hindi Medium’ was declared tax-free in Maharashtra. The flick 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' was declared tax free so as to honour the contribution of the 'Master Blaster' in the world of sports. 29-May-2017
Oh No! Ranveer Singh gets injured on the New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): The always high-on-energy Ranveer Singh recently hurt himself on the set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's period drama 'Padmavati' but continued to shoot showcasing his dedication. An immediate aid was provided to the actor on the sets and he resumed with shooting without further delay. While shooting the climax of the film, Ranveer injured himself on the head but the actor didn't let this interfere with the shoot. A source close to the actor said, "Ranveer hurt himself on the head while shooting for the film during a particular take but he was so engrossed in the performance that he did not realise it till the 'cut' was announced." It was only after Ranveer started bleeding profusely from the head that everyone realised that he had hurt himself badly. "Ranveer received initial first aid on the set and was rushed immediately to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment. He completed the basic treatment and returned to the film's set to complete his portions of the shoot. Rather than letting his injury slow him down or impact the shoot, Ranveer completed the day's work. He requires stitches on the head for which he visited the doctor late Friday evening," the source added. Well, while he was getting his aid at the hospital, his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone was waiting at Ranveer's residence to meet him. Ranveer is playing the character of Alauddin Khilji, a tyrant from 14th century India, in the magnum opus 'Padmavati,' along with Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. The 34-year-old-actress took to Instagram and shared a photo of her enjoying some pool time. She captioned the snap, "because without a stubborn refusal to accept the limitations of your current story.. you'll never break through... #just." In the picture, the 'Bajirao Mastani' star is seen wearing a dark blue bikini with her hair tied in a bun. Chopra was also seen rocking bikinis when she was in Miami for the world premiere of Baywatch. Helmed by Seth Gordon, ' Baywatch' also stars Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach, Jon Bass, and Ilfenesh Hadera in pivotal roles. 'Raabta' team quashes 'Magadheera' maker New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Raabta' has landed in a plagiarism feud after the makers of Telugu film 'Magadheera' claimed that there are lot of similarities between the two flicks. Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar, the producers of 'Raabta' replied in an official statement, saying that the allegations are "extremely unsavoury and disrespectful." The makers of the 2009 Telugu film claim that 'Raabta's plotline that revolves around reincarnation has been copied from the Ram Charan and Kajal Aggarwal-starrer. On Thursday, producer Allu Arvind of Geetha Arts sought injunction against the release of 'Raabta' over copyright infringement. The case will be heard in Hyderabad court on June 1, deciding the release of 'Raabta,' which is slated to hit the theatres on June 9. 29-May-2017

4 arrested with demonetised notes worth Bharuch (Gujarat), May 28 (ANI): A team of Special Operation Group (SOG) seized Rs. 1 crore demonetized in Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency in Bharuch and arrested four people in this regard. During the inspection at night, the SOG found a vehicle carrying demonetized money in a travelling bag. The vehicle has been confiscated and a probe has been initiated to ascertain the source of the amount. A case has also been registered against the four accused. 29-May-2017
Literary event held to boost Indo-Nepal Kathmandu, Nepal, May 28 (ANI): BP Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and Embassy of India in Nepal organised a cultural event to further enhance the bilateral relations between the countries. Ruchika Theatre group from India staged a drama based on the life of famous Indian poet and Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore when he was young. The drama titled "a quiet desire" set in the 19th century depicts the life of young Tagore through prose, poetry, and music. The story sheds light on his relationship with his brother and his sister-in-law Kadambari. It also talks of Kadambari’s suicide within four months of Rabindranath’s marriage. The drama also talks about his struggling days before he achieved any greatness. Feisal E Alkazi who has written and directed the Drama believes literature is an essential entity to bring anyone closer. Minister in Nepal acknowledged the event and asserted at the growing ties between two countries. Indian Deputy Head of mission to Nepal Mr. Vinay Kumar expressed sincere gratitude to the theatre group and claimed that this sort of event will strengthen the age long relation between two close neighbours.
