Mumbai, Apr 24 (UNI) The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday rose by 89.98 points at 38,654.86 in opening trade, as buying was seen in Energy, Realty, IT, Telecom, Oil&gas and Consumer durable stock.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too improved by 24.70 points to 11,600.65.

The sensex registered intra day high and low at 38,701.52 and 38,571.00 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 11,620.85 and 11,578.85 points respectively.

The gainers were ONGC by 2.10 pc to RS 167.40, HCL tech by 2.08 pc to Rs 1125.95, Indusind by 1.89 pc to Rs 1685.00, Bharti Airtel by 1.69 pc to Rs 321.55 and Asian Paints by 1.19 pc to Rs 1448.30

The losers were Tatamtrvdr by 5.65 pc to Rs 105.25, Tata motors by 5.19 pc to Rs 219.40, Hero motoco 1.26 pc to Rs 2603.75 , VEDL by 1.20 pc to Rs 172.60 and Axis bank by 1.20 pc To Rs 744.25
