Air India pilot Arvind Kathpalia, sacked for failing alcohol test, appointed as Regional Director
New Delhi, Apr 30 (IBNS): Air India pilot Arvind Kathpalia, whose flying licence was suspended in November 2018 after he failed pre-flight alcohol tests, has been appointed as the Regional Director (Northern Region) of the state-run airlines, media reports said.
According to reports, he will take charge from Wednesday.
"Consequent to the retirement of Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Regional Director (Northern Region) after the close of the working hours of 30th April, 2019, Capt. Arvind Kathpalia will take over the charge of the post of Regional Director (Northern Region) with effect from May 1, 2019," AI said in a notification as reported by News 18.
Last year, the pilot was tested positive in the breath-analyser test, forcing a delay in the journey.
The airline reportedly arranged for another pilot to operate the flight.
