Spice jet flight makes emergency landing in Nagpur

Nagpur, May 11 (UNI) A SpiceJet flight (SG8720) from Bengaluru to Delhi carrying 153 passengers on-board made an emergency landing at Nagpur airport at 0130 hrs following a technical snag.

According to a passenger, the flight was scheduled to depart from Bengaluru on Friday at 2200 hrs but it took off at 2330 hrs.

It was supposed to land in the National Capital by 1245 hrs but made an emergency landing at 0130 hrs in Nagpur.

All the passengers on board were forced to stay put in the aircraft carrier from 0130 hrs till 0530 hrs this morning.

'We were kept inside the flight till 0530 hrs and later we were allowed to go outside the plane at Nagpur.

All the passengers were later served with tea and poha (rice puff) in the morning, the passenger said.

'We were told an aircraft is coming from Mumbai with engineers.'

Then the airline said one aircraft is coming from Bangalore. Finally, no aircraft turned up, the passenger said.

The incident was confirmed by SpiceJet authorities who said the passengers were put on an alternate plane, a Jet Airways aircraft that it had acquired at 0915 hrs.
