Vodafone Idea to hike mobile call, data charges

New Delhi/IBNS/UNI: Telecom major Vodafone Idea on Sunday announced a hike in mobile calls and data charges from Dec 3.

The company has announced new plans in "unlimited"category with 2 days, 28 days, 84 days and 365 days validity, which on the back of the envelope calculations, prove it to be costlier by up to 41.2 per cent.

'Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL), India's leading telecom service provider, announced new tariffs/plans for it's prepaid products and services. New plans will be available across India, starting 0000 hrs of December 3, 2019,' the company said in a statement here.

In line with its commitment to provide customers with simple, convenient and affordable products, VIL has curated an optimum range of feature rich plans for both voice and data.

Customers can avail benefits by just selecting the plan best suited to their specific needs and continue to enjoy seamless connectivity across India.

Along with this, the company has also fixed the limit of calls to other operators. Now customers will be able to call on Airtel, BSNL and Jio with Vodafone Idea with fixed time.

Calls from Vodafone to Vodafone or Vodafone to Idea or Idea to Vodafone or Idea to Idea will be treated as on net calls, while calls from Vodafone Idea to other operators will be treated as off net calls and for calls beyond the prescribed limit, there will be a fee of six paise per minute.
