Industrial output grows 2.5%

New Delhi, Nov 12 (IBNS) India's General Index for Index of Industrial Production (IIP) has shown a growth of 2.5 per cent year-on-year in September, the government data released on Wednesday said.

"The General Index for the month of September 2014 stands at 171.7, which is 2.5% higher as compared to the level in the month of September 2013. The cumulative growth for the period April-September 2014-15 over the corresponding period of the previous year stands at 2.8%," Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation said in a statement.

The consumer price inflation eased to 5.52 per cent in October.
